Situation
- Connexion is fully owned by Telenor, and a world leader in IoT connectivity (internet of Things or machine-to-machine where connected devices captures and wireless transmits data)
- CEO was recently appointed. The organization was international. Industry is growing – but with significant variation across industries and geographies. Where and how should Connexion put its focus to capture growth?

- Imago Advisory led a comprehensive strategy process, where we together with an internal team from finance, sales and marketing analyzed and understood their value chain and business model. Where to play and how to win was iteratively worked out leveraging data, expertise in Connexion and market experts, and finally concluding with management and board
- This required making a comprehensive five year market analysis by country and vertical to identity and prioritize opportunities, as well as analysis of competing technologies, regulation and deep diving into each of the relevant verticals
- Together with the strategy plan, we designed a comprehensive strategy kick-off for the organization as well as KPI and performance management infrastructure to ensure the implementation plan was followed and targets achieved
Outcome
- Telenor Connexion had a clear strategy plan aligned with board, management, and employees
- New vertical focus also led to a reorganization of sales and marketing effort, and later to the strong scoring as “leader” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant
